Aaronsburg CDP (Centre County), PA

Aaronsburg is a Centre County census-designated place in western Haines Township, laid out in Penns Valley before Centre County itself existed. Aaron Levy bought land in 1783 and drew a 600-lot plan for Aaronsburgh in 1786; the settlement sits along PA Route 45 and is often described as Centre County's oldest town. Its original grid still shows in broad blocks, alleys, deep lots, shade trees, and a central stretch where the highway opens into a wider village streetscape.

The north end is marked by several cemeteries, while the township office and post office sit near Aaron Square. The Aaronsburg Community Building and Library, the Aaronsburg Library and Museum, small shops, service businesses, and backyard garden plots fill out the local map. The village's National Register Historic District gives the old grid a preservation layer, while daily life still follows the same practical pattern: PA 45 through the middle, residences behind the road, and Penns Valley farmland and hills just beyond the blocks.
