About Aberdeen
Aberdeen is a Harford County city northeast of Baltimore, best known for its long relationship with Aberdeen Proving Ground. The Army installation has shaped the local economy and identity for more than a century, bringing defense, research, and testing work to the area. Aberdeen was named by Scottish immigrants after Aberdeen, Scotland, and it still has a small-city feel along the rail corridor between Baltimore and Wilmington. It is also home to the Aberdeen IronBirds, the minor league baseball team at Ripken Stadium.
