About Absecon Highlands
Absecon Highlands is an unincorporated Atlantic County community and census-designated place in southern Galloway Township, with 1,414 residents in the 2020 census. It runs from the neighborhoods around Seaview Park and Absecon Highlands east to Reeds Bay, a tidal water body linked to Absecon Inlet. That water edge is the local giveaway: the community sits between the city of Absecon and Galloway's marsh-and-forest landscape, with roads that lead toward Atlantic City, the bay, and the township's inland neighborhoods. Galloway Township School District and Absegami High School tie the area to the broader school network.
Seaview Park and the Atlantic County Galloway East Tract give the area two different kinds of nearby open space. Seaview is a neighborhood park, while the county tract at Great Creek Road has trails, marsh views, and access to the wider coastal landscape. The shoreline, school routes, and Galloway's larger road network do most of the organizing. Absecon Highlands is a bay-edge community with a handful of named neighborhoods rather than a separate downtown, sharing its routines with both Galloway and Absecon.
