Addison, NY

Addison is the incorporated village in Steuben County, New York, set along the Canisteo River. The 2020 census counted 1,561 residents. Route 417 crosses the village and provides a hand-launch boat site on the river, where the valley shifts between residential blocks, farms, and wooded stretches. Village services are unusually visible in the everyday map: police, public works, water and sewer, volunteer fire, code enforcement, a clerk's office, and a community center all operate under the village government.
