About Aguilar

Aguilar is a statutory town located in Las Animas County, Colorado, United States. The 2020 census counted 456 residents. Cattleman and prominent pioneer José Ramón Aguilar founded the town in 1894. In 1864, a trading post called San Antonio Plaza was created by Agapito Ribali at the current site of the town.
