Alamosa East, CO

Alamosa East is an unincorporated census-designated place in Alamosa County, immediately east of the Rio Grande and next to the city of Alamosa. The 2020 census counted 1,453 residents. County planning describes it as the most densely developed part of the county, with a more urban pattern than the open agricultural land farther out. The East Alamosa Water and Sanitation District provides water and sewer connections in much of the area, although service is not uniform on every property. U.S. 160 and the roads into Alamosa make the boundary between town and county feel more like a working seam than a hard edge.
