Allendale, NJ

Allendale is a Bergen County borough near the Upper Saddle River, known for residential neighborhoods and preserved green space. One of its best local landmarks is the Celery Farm, a nature preserve whose name comes from a Swiss immigrant, Appert, who drained a bog to grow onions and celery. Crestwood Park adds another community recreation spot. Allendale feels affluent and residential, with commuter access, local schools, wetlands, and parks giving it more texture than a simple bedroom suburb.
