About Allenport
Allenport is a Huntingdon County census-designated place on the Juniata River, southeast of Mount Union in Shirley Township. U.S. 522 runs through the community, while Pennsylvania 103 begins here and follows the river toward Mattawana. Across the water, Kistler sits in Mifflin County; nearby inactive East Broad Top narrow-gauge tracks hint at an older industrial map. The river keeps the county line in the foreground: roads and businesses face one another across the Juniata, while the hills close in behind the valley. The 2010 census counted 648 residents.
Allenport's clearest working address is the Riverview Business Center, where Bonney Forge, FCI, and Containment Solutions have manufacturing facilities. That gives the community a mix of river settlement, highway junction, and working industrial ground. Mount Union is next door to the north, the Juniata carries the eastern edge, and U.S. 522 ties Allenport to Shirleysburg five miles south. It is a small Pennsylvania place shaped by factories, rail remnants, and the crossings that connect Huntingdon and Mifflin counties.
