Alsen, ND

Set along Highway 66 in Cavalier County, Alsen is a tiny northeastern North Dakota community of roughly thirty people surrounded by vast prairie farmland. While life here moves at a quiet pace today, the town holds a proud place in state lore. Back in the late 1950s, Alsen’s high school basketball team put together a remarkable 79-game winning streak and took home back-to-back state championships. It remains a tranquil rural outpost with a sports legacy that locals still remember.
