Amboy, IL

Home to around 2,300 people in Lee County, Amboy is a quiet town with deep roots along the Green River. Founded in the 1850s as a hub for the Illinois Central Railroad, the community grew around its tracks, brick storefronts, and tree-lined residential streets. It carries plenty of unique local history, including visits from Abraham Lincoln during his days as a railroad lawyer and a beautifully preserved two-story brick depot that still anchors downtown.
