About Amenia

Amenia began in 1875 when East Coast investors purchased more than 27,000 acres of prairie to create a massive bonanza wheat farm. The Amenia and Sharon Land Company ran the property as one unified agricultural enterprise, bringing workers, equipment, and rail lines into the Red River Valley. A grain elevator and depot quickly followed, and what started as a sprawling farm headquarters gradually grew into a permanent community.
