About Amo
Amo is a town in Clay Township, Hendricks County, Indiana, United States. The 2020 census counted 408 residents. The town was laid out as Morristown in 1850 by Joseph Morris. The present name of Amo was adopted in 1855. Amo is in the Mill Creek Community School Corporation. Mill Creek West Elementary is located in Amo. The short version is that Amo carries an earlier story into the places people know and use now. That is the local read on Amo: its past remains attached to the places people use now. The Vandalia Trail is a multipurpose rail trail used for recreational activities such as hiking, off-road bicycling, and horseback riding. Amo is currently, as of 2011, under development.
