About Andover

Andover is a village in southeastern Ashtabula County, close to the Ohio side of Pymatuning Lake and the state park that surrounds much of its shoreline. The lake supplies the big geographic reference, but Andover’s center has its own shape: a town square, older shops, local businesses, and roads that move between the village and the lake country. Pymatuning Valley Local School District operates its elementary and high schools in Andover, keeping the school campus part of the village’s everyday map.

Overly Recreation Park adds a local green space with a playground, trails, picnic areas, pavilion, ball field, and volleyball court. The Pymatuning Valley Greenway also brings a former transportation corridor into the town’s present life, while fishing, boating, birding, and seasonal lake traffic fill in the wider setting. Andover’s history reaches back to New England migrants who brought the name from Connecticut; a post office called Sharon became Andover in 1826. The result is a village with an old name, a real square, and a lake that keeps the surrounding countryside in motion.
