Annetta South, TX

Annetta South is a small incorporated municipality in east Parker County, southwest of Aledo and south of Annetta. Its land is largely residential and agricultural, and its history belongs to the wider Annetta community that grew in the late nineteenth century around a station, store, and post office. The Texas and Pacific Railroad helped establish that community along its route in the 1880s, with cotton and local crops moving through the area.

The three Annetta towns took shape in 1979 as Fort Worth's extraterritorial jurisdiction approached. Annetta South became the southern section, keeping its own municipal boundary while sharing the area's older history. Aledo ISD serves the town, and Annetta Elementary sits just west of Aledo with kindergarten-through-fifth-grade classes. The town's ZIP code is 76008. For residents, town government and farmland sit alongside school routines tied to the larger Aledo community. The three incorporated boundaries cover more land than the original community, so the old name now spans a wider area.
