Just across from the mall sits Santa Anita Park, a famous thoroughbred racetrack framed by panoramic mountain views. The site holds a meaningful place in American history, having served as a temporary assembly center for thousands of Japanese Americans during World War II before their forced transfer to inland incarceration camps.
