Ardmore got its start in the late 1880s as a bustling Santa Fe railroad stop in the Chickasaw Nation. After surviving a massive fire and a devastating rail explosion in its early decades, the community rebuilt in sturdy brick and stone, helped along by the discovery of oil nearby. You can still feel that resilient spirit around the historic Depot District today. The old brick storefronts and preserved depot give downtown a grounded sense of character that reflects how the town grew from a cattle depot into southern Oklahoma's main hub.

Location is one of Ardmore's biggest perks. Sitting along Interstate 35, the town puts you roughly 90 minutes from both Oklahoma City and the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
