About Argusville
Argusville is a Cass County city founded as a railroad town in 1881, when the line reached the site. The name most likely came from the Daily Argus, a local newspaper, which is a more interesting origin than the usual founder’s surname. A huge housing boom from 2004 to 2008 pushed the population well beyond its earlier size, giving the old rail plat a much newer residential footprint. Argusville is eastern North Dakota with a newspaper name, a rail beginning, and a city map that changed quickly once homes started filling in.
