Argyle, NY

Argyle is a quiet rural village in Washington County, set among rolling farm country just southeast of Glens Falls. Named by the Scottish immigrants who settled here in the mid-1700s, the community grew along the banks of the Moses Kill, which once powered the area's earliest mills. You can still see that deep history in the older homes along Main Street and in local landmarks linked to the village's active role in the nineteenth-century Underground Railroad.
