Arnaudville, LA

Arnaudville is a St. Landry and St. Martin parish town of 1,041 residents in the 2020 population estimate, sitting where Bayou Teche crosses into St. Martin Parish and meets Bayou Fuselier. French settlers arrived in the late 18th century, the place was first called La Murière and later La Jonction, and the Arnaud family gave the town its present name. Arnaudville incorporated in 1870, but the bayous remain the oldest lines on its map. The town's streets follow both banks of the water through town.

That junction shapes daily life and culture. French-speaking residents still use La Jonction, Cajun food shows up in boudin and étouffée, and the annual Étouffée Festival brings the town's food identity into the street.
