About Ashdown

Ashdown is a Little River County city located within the Arkansas Timberlands between the Little River and Red River. Serving as the county seat since 1906, the town developed from a farming settlement formerly known as Turkey Flats and Keller. Today, the local economy remains closely tied to the timber industry, and the community hosts the annual Whistlestop Festival to celebrate its railroad heritage. Nearby attractions include Millwood Lake and Millwood State Park, located seven miles east.
