About Ashland

Ashland is a city and the county seat of Ashland County, Ohio, situated sixty-six miles southwest of Cleveland. Platted in 1815 as Uniontown and renamed in 1822 to avoid duplication, the community of approximately 18,900 is the commercial center of its micropolitan area. The city is home to Ashland University, a private institution founded in 1878, and features over three hundred acres of municipal parks, playgrounds, and hiking trails.
