Ashville is a historic city in St. Clair County, Alabama, serving as one of the county's dual seats alongside Pell City. Founded in 1817 as St. Clairsville, the town was later renamed to honor its first settler, John Ash, and was formally incorporated in 1822. Today, the residential residential community is served by the St. Clair County School District and is situated in a region characterized by a mild Southern climate.
