About Aubrey

Aubrey is a city in Denton County, Texas, located twelve miles north of Denton and forty miles north of Fort Worth. Officially founded in 1867 by Civil War veteran Lemuel Noah Edwards, the community of approximately 7,400 has grown from its agricultural origins, once known for its surrounding peanut farms. Public education is administered by the Aubrey Independent School District, whose teams compete as the Chaparrals.
