About Augusta

Augusta is an Eau Claire County city on Bridge Creek, with a name that replaced the earlier Ridge Creek and a calendar built around beans, bacon, and a parade. The city dates to the 1850s, and its post office has been in operation since 1858. Bridge Creek and Diamond Valley Creek give Augusta two Class 2 trout streams, while U.S. 12 and State Trunk Highway 27 cross through the town. Bean and Bacon Days grew from older Independence Day gatherings into a multi-day festival with a grand parade, duck races, and local history events. Augusta is a western Wisconsin crossroads where trout water, highway streets, and a very specific summer tradition all share the same town map.
