Avalon is an affluent resort borough in Cape May County, New Jersey, situated on the northern portion of Seven Mile Island. Known as one of the most prestigious communities on the Jersey Shore, the high-income enclave features some of the most expensive residential real estate on the East Coast, with its population swelling to forty-five thousand during the summer months. The borough is a designated dry town where alcohol sales are prohibited.
