Avalon is a residential borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, situated along the Ohio River six miles downstream from Pittsburgh. Incorporated in 1874 following a petition to separate from Kilbuck Township, the suburban community of approximately 4,674 is served by the Northgate School District for public primary and secondary education locally.
