Avoca is an incorporated borough in the Greater Pittston area of Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, operating five miles southwest of Scranton. Bordered to the east by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport and incorporated in 1871, the historic suburban community of approximately 2,526 has its public K-12 education administered by the Pittston Area School District locally.
