Avon's completed library expansion turned a 10,000-square-foot branch into a 26,000-square-foot civic workspace. The Avon Branch now has a drive-through window, an expanded children's area and story-time room, a teen area with a soundproof study room, a business center, an esports lounge, and a creation space with a 3D printer, laser engraver, and embroidery machine. A demonstration kitchen and a 150-person meeting room widen its use beyond borrowing books. Outdoor recreation is distributed among city parks that include Every Child's Playground, a dog park, Little League Park, Northgate Park, Schwartz Road Park, and Veterans Memorial Park. The seasonal Avon Aquatic Facility adds an Olympic-size competition pool and a separate activity pool; its 2026 schedule includes youth and adult swim meets, lessons, and adapted aquatics.

The city calendar also places summer movie nights in the parks and concerts at the Heritage Square gazebo. Nearby French Creek Reservation supplies a different landscape, with 450 wooded acres, more than 4.5 miles of trails, a nature center, indoor play space, wildlife viewing, and a live-theater program. From a 2020 count of 24,847 residents, Avon's population estimate rose to 25,611 in 2025, 3.1 percent above the 2020 estimates base. The 2020-2024 housing profile was 88.3 percent owner-occupied, and 93.5 percent of people age one or older had remained in the same home from the prior year.

The library's age-specific rooms, pool programming, playgrounds, trails, and senior activities correspond to that broad age range more directly than a school-centered description alone.
