About Azle

Azle is a northwest Texas city near Fort Worth, closely tied to Eagle Mountain Lake. The first recorded settlement at the site came in 1846, when James Azle Steward moved into a log cabin built by an earlier settler. Eagle Mountain Lake, formed by a dam on the Trinity River, gives the city much of its recreation and residential appeal. Azle is served by its own independent school district and feels like a lake-adjacent Fort Worth suburb with older small-town roots.
