About Balm
Balm is an unincorporated census-designated place in Hillsborough County, Florida, with roots as an early twentieth-century rail stop and logging community. A post office was established here in 1902 under the name Doric, quickly renamed Balm in reference to the area's balmy air. The community of approximately 7,200 is primarily agricultural, with the University of Florida's Tomato Breeding Program located here, and is served by Hillsborough County Public Schools.
