Barbourville is a home rule-class city and the county seat of Knox County, Kentucky, situated in the valley of the Cumberland River. Established in 1812 and hosting the annual Daniel Boone Festival every October to commemorate the pioneer's 1775 expedition, the community of approximately 3,146 is served by the Barbourville Independent School District locally.
