About Bardstown

Bardstown is a historic city and the county seat of Nelson County, Kentucky. First settled in 1780 and named for the pioneering Bard brothers, the community of approximately 13,800 is widely celebrated as the Bourbon Capital of the World, hosting the annual Kentucky Bourbon Festival. The city features My Old Kentucky Home State Park, the Civil War Museum, and is served by the Bardstown Independent School District.
