About Barnesville

Barnesville is a city and the county seat of Lamar County, Georgia. Founded in 1826 by tavern owner Gideon Barnes and historic as the Buggy Capital of the South, a heritage celebrated during the annual Buggy Days festival, the community of approximately 6,121 is served by the Lamar County School District for public education.
