Barnwell is a city and the county seat of Barnwell County, South Carolina, situated along Turkey Creek. Established in 1798 and named for Revolutionary War officer John Barnwell, the municipal and trading hub of approximately 4,613 hosts the annual Sundial Festival and is served by the Barnwell School District forty-five locally.
