About Bartlesville

Bartlesville is a northeastern Oklahoma city on the Caney River, north of Tulsa and close to the Kansas line. Its history is tied to Indian Territory, the Delaware community, and Jacob Bartles, for whom the city is named. Bartlesville later became strongly associated with the oil industry through Phillips Petroleum, and that corporate legacy still shows in local institutions and architecture. The Price Tower, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, gives the city an architectural landmark that feels unusually prominent for a town of its size.
