About Battle Creek
Battle Creek is a south-central Michigan city known for food manufacturing, aviation, and a deep regional history. Around 1774, Potawatomi and Ottawa people formed a joint village near the future city. Battle Creek later became nationally associated with cereal and the Kellogg name, while modern local institutions include Western Michigan University's College of Aviation, Duncan Aviation, and WACO Classic Aircraft. Fort Custer Recreation Area adds a large outdoor presence nearby, giving the city a mix of industrial, aviation, and parkland identity.
