Bayard, NE

Sitting in the North Platte River valley about 25 miles east of Scottsbluff, Bayard is a quiet western Nebraska community of around 1,100 people. U.S. Highway 26 runs straight through town, connecting residential streets to wide-open farm country, cattle pastures, and scenic river bottoms. One of the best perks of living here is the view of Chimney Rock, the famous Oregon Trail landmark rising just a few miles to the south, which provides a striking backdrop to everyday life.
