Bayport is a tiny coastal community on Hernando County's Gulf shore, home to just a few dozen residents. In the mid-1800s, it was a thriving shallow-water port and the original county seat, shipping timber and cotton across the Gulf. Today, it is a quiet, scenic haven where the Weeki Wachee River meets the coast.
