About Beaver Creek
Beaver Creek is an unincorporated Washington County community southeast of Hagerstown and north of Boonsboro, near U.S. 40 and Maryland Route 66. The place was founded in 1766, and the creek remains the name that holds the local map together. Maryland’s fisheries department describes Beaver Creek as one of the state’s larger limestone streams and has managed it historically as a put-and-take trout fishery. South Mountain rises behind the road corridor, while the community falls within the Hagerstown metropolitan area. It is a crossroads settlement where the creek, the old roads, and the Maryland hills do most of the introducing.
