About Beaver Crossing
Beaver Crossing is a village in Seward County, Nebraska, United States. The 2020 census counted 375 residents. Beaver Crossing was platted in 1875 in anticipation of the building of the railroad which, to the town's dismay, would not arrive until 1887. Beaver Crossing was named from a nearby crossing of a trail from Nebraska City to Fort Kearny over Beaver Creek. The short version is that Beaver Crossing carries an earlier story into the places people know and use now. That is the local read on Beaver Crossing: its past remains attached to the places people use now.
