Beechwood Village, KY

Beechwood Village is a small home-rule city in Jefferson County, seven miles east of downtown Louisville and set inside the St. Matthews area. The 2020 census counted 1,280 residents. Kentucky incorporated the city in 1950, and the neighborhood map is easy to read: St. Matthews wraps around most sides, with Woodlawn Park to the north and Shelbyville Road and Hubbards Lane marking the larger edges. Its downtown is more of a local strip than a separate city core. Beechwood Village is made up mostly of residential streets and a compact set of homes, with Louisville close enough to shape the everyday errands.

The city sits in a pocket of older suburban development, where the boundary lines matter because several small municipalities share the same larger St. Matthews landscape. Tree-lined streets, local ordinances, and the short run to Shelbyville Road give Beechwood its own pace. It is a small Jefferson County city with a 1950 incorporation story and a Louisville address that still feels distinct on the map.
