Belle Chasse, LA

Belle Chasse is a Plaquemines Parish community south of New Orleans, stretched along the Mississippi River on the way toward the delta. It serves as the parish seat and has a working Gulf Coast feel, with river traffic, citrus country, fishing culture, and industry all nearby. Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans is one of its major institutions, giving the community a military presence as well. Belle Chasse is also known locally for Orange Festival traditions, reflecting the parish's long citrus-growing history.
