Bernville, PA

Bernville is a quiet borough set among the rolling hills and farmland of western Berks County. Founded in the 1700s and named after Bern, Switzerland, the community has kept much of its relaxed, small-town charm. Route 183 runs right along the edge of town, giving residents a straightforward drive toward Reading or Interstate 78, but the quiet residential streets and open country views make it feel far removed from busy suburban traffic.

Water has always played a big role here. Northkill Creek flows right past town toward Blue Marsh Lake, putting boating, fishing, and miles of wooded trails just a few minutes away. Closer to home, Umbenhauer Park and Stanton Clay Park offer baseball fields, playgrounds, and picnic pavilions where neighbors gather for youth sports and weekend get-togethers.
