About Berryville

Berryville is an incorporated town and the county seat of Clarke County, Virginia, situated in the northern Shenandoah Valley eleven miles east of Winchester. Founded at the intersection of the historic Winchester Turnpike and Charlestown Road, the community of approximately 4,700 stands on land first granted to Captain Isaac Pennington in 1734 and surveyed by George Washington in 1750. Local public education is administered by the Clarke County School District.
