Big Rock is a quiet, small community in southwestern Virginia's Buchanan County, tucked along U.S. 460 right near the Kentucky state line. Home to about 200 residents, it has roots stretching back to the 1850s, named after a massive riverside boulder that was cleared away for railroad construction in the 1930s.
