About Bigler

Bigler is a Clearfield County census-designated place in Bradford Township, nine miles east of Clearfield and eight miles northwest of Philipsburg along US 322. The settlement was first called Williams Grove; mail confusion with another Pennsylvania Williams Grove prompted the new name, which honors William Bigler, a Clearfield County native who served as Pennsylvania governor and U.S. senator. The place sits in a county where townships, roads, and small settlements carry much of the civic structure.

US 322 and Bigler Road give the community its practical outline, with the 16825 postal service close to the highway. Bradford Township maintains a broad road network, and the shared local service map includes the Clearfield Area School District, a volunteer fire company, and the Woodland Bigler Area Authority. Bigler is a small highway community whose name carries county political history, while its present map is made of a post office, township roads, and the school and utility systems shared across Bradford Township. The Bigler post office is at 336 Bigler Road in ZIP 16825.
