Black Jack, MO

Tucked into northern St. Louis County, Black Jack is a quiet, leafy suburb with a population of around 6,600. The town got its memorable name back in the 1800s from three blackjack oak trees that provided shade for local farmers at the corner of Old Halls Ferry and Parker roads. Today, it offers a relaxed residential feel with convenient access to the rest of the St. Louis metro area.

Local students attend the Hazelwood School District, and there is plenty of green space to enjoy on the weekends. Residents can spend time outdoors at the 75-acre city park or explore the scenic walking paths at Joyce E. Hoffman Nature Park.
