Black Hawk sits along Interstate 90 just northwest of Rapid City, right at the base of the Black Hills. Home to around 3,000 residents, it offers a quieter, more spacious setting while keeping you only ten to fifteen minutes from downtown. Most people move here for the open space, scenic pine-covered views, and an easy commute into the city.

Local kids attend Black Hawk Elementary before heading into Rapid City for middle and high school. Because Black Hawk is mostly residential, you will hop on the highway for major grocery trips, healthcare, and dining. Winters bring typical South Dakota wind and snow, but you get quiet neighborhoods and immediate access to nearby hiking trails and forest roads.
