About Blooming Glen
Blooming Glen is an unincorporated community in Hilltown Township, Bucks County, at the meeting of Pennsylvania Route 113 and Blooming Glen Road. The place has worn a few names: it was briefly called Perkasie, then Moyers Store in the 1870s when John S. Moyer's post office gave the village its working name, before Blooming Glen settled in. Across the road, Blooming Glen Mennonite Church traces its first meetinghouse to a log cabin built in 1753. The road, church, and township park still give the crossroads a readable shape. Blooming Glen is a Bucks County village where an old post office name and a Mennonite meetinghouse tell the story behind the intersection sign.
