Bloxom, VA

Bloxom is a quiet small town on Virginia's Eastern Shore, sitting just a few miles west of Route 13 in Accomack County. It grew up around the railroad in the late 1800s, quickly turning into a bustling shipping hub where local farmers sent their produce to market. In its heyday, the downtown area hummed with general stores, a hotel, and local businesses built around the daily train traffic.

These days, Bloxom is a peaceful, slow-paced residential community where neighbors know each other and the volunteer fire company still serves as a local anchor. The old tracks are getting a second act as part of the Eastern Shore Rail Trail, turning the historic corridor into a path for walking and biking. It gives the town a relaxed, rural atmosphere with a direct connection to the outdoors and neighboring shore towns.
